When choosing a Roofing and Remodeling Contractor the following guidelines should be observed:

Trust that the company will be around to honor your warranty. Ask for a response time should a warranty issue arise. At Action Roofing and Remodeling, we pride ourselves in responding to your call within 24 hours. As always, our warranties are transferable.

Make sure that you receive at least a one year warranty, even if it is only for a repair. A reputable company will always warranty their work for a minimum of one year.

Has the company been in business for more than five years? Ask for references and check them. Do more than call, drive by and check the workmanship.

Check with the company's supplier and make sure they have an established relationship. Make sure the contractor pays their bills. You do not want a lien placed on your home because the contractor did not pay for your materials.

A reputable contractor should always be licensed with no unresolved complaints.

Certifications indicate that the contractor continues his or her education on an annual basis, and maintains all industry standards.

Are they members of the Roofing Contractor's Association, the Greater San Antonio Builders Association, the Better Business Bureau? Are they actively involved in giving back to the community?

Make sure you are comfortable with your chosen contractor.
